One of the examples we have here is no other than our Lord Jesus Christ. The four Gospel , Matthew, Mark, Luke and John all recorded the prayer discipline of Jesus.
Mark recorded him being up in early morning to pray.
“In the early morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house, and went away to a secluded place, and was praying there”. (Mark 1:35)
Luke told us that he loves overnight prayer.
“ It was at this time that He went off to the mountain to pray, and He spent the whole night in prayer to God”. (Luke 6:12)
Matthew shows us Jesus’ persistence on prayer.
“And He left them again, and went away and prayed a third time, saying the same thing once more.” (Matthew 26:44)
John told us how Jesus intercedes for his disciples and those who will believed on him.
“I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me th rough their word;” (John 17:20)
Luke also mentioned to us that despite Jesus busy schedule he always finds way so he can pray.
“But Jesus Himself would often slip away to the wilderness and pray”. (Luke 5:16.)
There are plenty of scriptures we can share to you about Jesus’ discipline on prayer. But we have limited space. Think about this, my dear brother, and sisters. If Jesus do that, should we not be doing that as well? Knowing that He is here to model as how to live as believers of God the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit? We should be. Today I hoped that beginning of your prayer life changes. God bless you all.
Start a disciplined prayer life now.
