Think Carefully

Dear brothers and sisters, about the issue of LA Sunrise, I have some thoughts that I would like to share with you. As a believer, if you ask me where I will stand, I would stand by God’s side and I need to stand firm. I shall not take side for the following reasons:

  (1) It is not my place to comment. I am not authorized to investigate the truth.

  (2) I don’t’ have enough knowledge and information about what has happened, whether it is time, place and people, especially about the professional knowledge of system of non-profit organisations in U.S. (e.g. U.S. Company Law, Bylaws, financial management system, ) and the understanding of Sunrise LA (Sunrise history, structure, management system, registrar of directors, registrar of shareholders, financial report, board of directors meeting minutes, bank statements, etc., US sunrise member’s attendance records etc.)

While Hong Kong Sunrise operates under Hong Kong Company Law, Legislation of the Ordinance of Societies, accounting standards and Bylaws.

  (3) I don’t understand about the relationship among Sunrise Ministry, HK, and US Sunrise church. After reading all the description and declaration (including video and Whatsapp), if there are queries, need to talk with the related persons.

  (4) Principle of justice- I have personal relationship with Rev. Shek and Rev. Tam and therefore it is not appropriate for me to interfere or judge. When a judge hears a case, he must not have any relationship with the prosecution and the defense.

  (5) About the accuracy of Lebanon financial report, it is best to have auditor to audit the figures. It is not the time to make any judgment.

  (6) Most of all, I need to have deep biblical understanding of the Bible how to handle money and how to manage well a church. What can believers do? To fold their hands? To sit idly by? Or to believe the church, believe that those in position is able to handle the issue. Please pray for the church, Rev. Shek and Rev. Tam.

“Blessed are the peacemakers, they may be called the sons of God”. We need to think carefully, discuss and without judging, stick to our post, fast and pray and strive for unity.
